The Challenge

After a series of unfortunate renovations back in the 80’s and 90’s, this building’s lobby had been stripped of all of its pre-war detail, making it look more like an office waiting room than the lobby of one of the finest boutique prewar apartment buildings on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. We were asked to create a lobby that was worthy of the residences that exist above. The solution was to design, build and install beautifully detailed and carved marble walls, along with a stone mantle, beautiful light fixtures and eloquently detailed brass and glass doors.
